“Died After The Finish Line”

According to the NYS Gaming Commission, Charnley River “died after the finish line” of the 5th race at Finger Lakes yesterday. Since there was no indication of injury on the chart, it would appear that this was one of those “cardiac events” that regularly take down pubescent racehorses (CR was but five). Vile.

  1. I want to make the breeders, jockeys, trainers owners and everyone else whipped and made to run until they die of a “cardiac event”.

  2. A lot of people don’t realize that many horses die after the race and not even on the track. Yes, raced to death, literally.

  3. “died” ?
Ah yes, but this is such a regular occurrence on raceday that some racetrack administrators couldn’t be bothered to add anything further. Afterall, it was just a horse.
As Patrick says, this horse appears to have died from a “cardiac event”.
    Probably exercise induced cardiac failure.
But until the NYS Racing Commission decides to disclose the true nature of this horse’s death, I guess we’ll never know. Horseracing is a very public industry and it goes without saying that the public has a right to know. These horses are put on public display and are open to public scrutiny.
Charnley River had his life cruelly stolen from him and died as do many other racehorses serving this industry.
    Unacceptable
    Unjustified
    Unconscionable
    Indefensible
    And just plain SICK !!!

  4. Another brutally cruel, depravedly indifferent day at the races — but only for the HORSES and those of us who love them — SHAME ON ALL WHO TURN A BLIND EYE to the suffering of these magnificent animals from Day #1 to their premature deaths.

  6. Trainer Patricia Farro just keeps on abusing, and is supported by the HBPA via awards.
It’s mind boggling when you follow this trainer and see just how many horses she races, and most are horses that have made over $100,000, horses with back class who ran hard for their retirement paddock that will, most likely, never be furnished.
Many of her horses are maimed, disappear off the radar, break down and/or die in the dirt.
It’s astounding (for those of us who truly care) how this monster continues every day with her ongoing inhumane treatment of racehorses.
In the past 2 days, there have been about 20 racehorses who most would classify as a death waiting to happen.
However, I will isolate a few such as SHAUNNA ALEXANDER – this poor mare has run her ass-off for this vile business making over $400,000, but this is still not enough for her to stop the abuse. In fact, the abuse is as bad as ever. She’s still running at 9 years old for bottom claimers. She was a champion in her glory days, but has now been reduced to an ever revolving cycle of abuse, change of owners into this current monsters “care.”
I can’t imagine the number of times her joints and muscles have been punctured from needles to keep her going.
The biggest liability for Shaunna is that she’s a champion, and shines through in bottom claimers, so they continue to run her, to pick up checks until she will be unable to run anymore.
That’s what this business is about – squeezing the lemon dry, sucking their blood until there’s no more to give, and Patricia Farro is just the trainer to do that.
SILVER SILENCE has it no better. This mare made over $200,000 and is still being run at 8 years old.
In her last start on August 3, 2018 – she “abruptly stopped.” Nothing more, we don’t even know if she walked-off on her own accord.
Patricia Farro you are a monster as she just recently did an official workout after everything this mare has been through she is STILL abusing her.
There’s a special place in hell for monsters like Patricia Farro you low life blood sucking leech.
However, your enablers are just as bad.
