The Peter Miller-trained colt Bobby Abu Dhabi collapsed and died – the proverbial “sudden cardiac event” – today while training at Del Mar. To my knowledge, ’tis the first official kill of the Del Mar summer (which only began Wednesday). Cool as ever.

Bobby Abu Dhabi “royally-bred” by industry standards.
Sold for $335,000 as a 2 year-old in training to the current owners.
Given the breeding, sales price, and performance on the track he would, most likely, be insured for $300,000+.
We will never know if a serious ailment would prevent him from making more money nor will anybody every know if a doping cocktail was administered before he went onto the track that morning?
Again, the secret doping/vet records will be kept secret.
This particular trainer, Peter Miller, has multiple racehorses that have broke down or disappeared off the radar.
So sorry for you Bobby Abu Dhabi whatever happened.
Sadly, you will probably not be the last horse to die at Del Mar this season.
SWELTERING HEAT – EXCESSIVE heat warnings all over this country and these heartless bastards continue to force these racehorses to run!!
Animal and vet groups all over the country warning pet owners to only let their dogs out for pottie and then bring them back into cooler conditions.
Yet, this multi-billion dollar industry pumps them up with doping cocktails including Lasix which dehydrates them, most trainers take their water/hay away at least 4 hours before they run exacerbating the dehydration and massive water loss, places equipment on their backs, rubbing into their sweat soaked skin, beats/whips them to perform, and doesn’t give a crap when they drop/die form “cardiac arrest,” or snap their legs-off.
Most all racetracks this past weekend, Woodbine included, still continued with this abusive freak show.
Don’t support horse racing because you are supporting massive suffering and dying of horses.
