A 6-year-old mare by the name of Cool Chic is dead – “was euthanized,” says Equibase – after “falling” in the 6th last night at Delta Downs. Including her death run, Cool Chic was whip-raced a total of 21 times – all claiming, meaning her people (most recently, Von Mallery and Edmond Godfrey) valued her so much that they had her up “For Sale” before each and every race.
