The carnage continues………..
The race mare Congressionalbust – a 2009 bay mare – was not on this list of racing casualties. In her last race on November 17 at Mahoning Valley Race Course, she finished 4th in a 4K claiming race and earned her owner/trainer $150 for her 4th place finish. She “weakened” in that race – her last race.
Congressionalbust had 56 starts, 3-5-10, for 84K.
The money SHE made from the efforts of her very body didn’t ensure her a safe and happy retirement. She was found in a kill pen..one month after her last race on November 17 at Mahoning.
Her owner/trainer was Shane Murphy.
Congressionalbust, raced 56 times for 84K, dumped and defenseless…IN A KILL PEN. Fortunately for this mare, she was rescued.
