Horseracing’s 40 billion dollar industry brags about their “Aftercare”. What about “Beforecare”??? As long as this horse can earn money for them by people placing $2 bets across the nation via simulcast races they “kill” two birds with one stone — make money on the people betting the long shot horse and when it is raced to death, then they don’t have to spent money on “aftercare”. Any Face Book user sees the unwanted Thoroughbreds discarded from one end of the continent to the other and the vast, vast majority stepping up to even share such posts are the NON-race people again and again and again. Never a post from these entities or any of their employees: The Jockey Club, the various racetracks, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, Thoroughbred Charities of America, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, any of 38 racing commissions, the AVMA, the AAEP or for that matter the HSUS which is pro-racing and has stated in the Paulick Report that they believe racing can be made humane. Well, where are they????
