3-year-old Venture Capitalist is dead after breaking down in the 8th yesterday at Santa Anita. The gelding’s two most previous finishes were 7th and 10th, and as the Daily Racing Form notes in reporting the kill, VC went into his death race at 80-1. Not terribly difficult to draw conclusions here.
